Combined cycle power plants (CCPP) use both gas and steam turbines to produce energy in order to increase the overall efficiency. Using natural gas as fuel, a gas turbine is operated to generate energy in its generator. In the next step, the exhausted gas is used to transform water into high pressure steam by means of a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). Driven by this steam, a steam turbine provides additional energy and allows extracting steam for district heating or other purposes. Due to this combined cycle process, reaching an electrical efficiency of nearly 60% and fuel efficiency above 85% is possible.

The biggest advantage of CCPPs is the higher efficiency compared to traditional power plants (fired by coal and distillate oil). More energy on the one hand while producing less pollution on the other hand - accomplished by more efficient usage of natural gas. For further advantages, the short construction time, the high availability and the short starting times are to be mentioned.

As an EPC contractor of turn-key combined cycle power plants, we are able to provide the best combination of single components (gas turbine, HRSG, steam turbine, DCS, BOP, etc.) available on the market, which are combined to an optimal power plant according to our customer's requirements.

Embedded in a global group, our experienced staff members guarantee the best quality and timely realisation of combined cycle power plants, together with the right partners, subcontractors and state-of-the-art project management methods.
